Editorial Note
May we realize that we will only get rulers we deserve and that rulers are reflections of ourselves.
Inviting all Indians to do a bit of soul searching and starting with the man in the mirror, may we become beacons of change and torchbearers of progress.
Let us affirm that we are gatekeepers of an illustrious culture and custodians of a priceless heritage.
Let each one of us adorn the mantle of a messiah of peace, harmony and universal brotherhood.
Let us make a concerted effort to exorcise all demons of our past failures and outgrow the selfish interests of our survival struggles.
Let us be apostles of truth and righteousness condemning each wily politician and every slanted political agenda.
Let us be vigilant not to permit unscrupulous politicians to corrupt the psyche of our masses and causing our society to plunge into darkness like a cat dragging a mouse into the shadows.
May we realize that we will only get rulers we deserve and that rulers are reflections of ourselves.
Let us resolve not to corrupt ourselves by falling prey to the allure of crank materialism and ill-begotten wealth.
Let us wage a moral war to protect the honor of our womenfolk and restore the dignity she had in the halcyon days of the Rig Veda. May the tribe of Gargi and Maitreyi increase.
May we know that only when there is wisdom in the mother, will there be glory in the children.
Let us deliberate on real issues plaguing our nation in poverty, malnutrition, unemployment and hunger.
Let us stand for the voiceless and defenseless and care for the poor and destitute.
May we remember that the idea of India is ancient and rooted in solidarity with our fellow countrymen transcending differences in caste, creed, sect, religion, language, customs and traditions.
Let us celebrate the unity in our vast diversity unparalleled in the history of mankind.
Let us strive to build bridges than walls for the spirit of India resides in her solemn prayer “Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu”(Let the entire world be happy).
And let the passion in being an Indian and part of a glorious civilization provide us with the inspiration to march forward, united in spirit and asking ourselves with unprecedented vigor,
“WHAT CAN WE DO FOR OUR COUNTRY”
Wherever we are to make it a better place to be and bequeath that glory to our children and our grandchildren so that future generations will reminiscence in gratitude and with fervor in their hearts proclaim,
“We stand on the mighty shoulders of our fathers and mothers who were all responsible citizens who had sacrificed greatly to gift us with this beautiful country India”
