Editorial Note
Reminiscing that glorious autumn day
When leaves were falling and the west wind blowing
She walked down the aisle as an angel dressed in white
With a beaming face and a radiant smile
Did her eyes well up and those red lips quiver
When she uttered “I do” until death do us part?
Those sleepless nights and long lullabies
From changing diapers to shorts and skirts
And watching them arrive as man and woman
In the fullness of time and crossroads of providence
Juggling many hats amidst the storm and stress of the world
Is worth a smile though they have flown off to faraway lands
Her once rosy cheeks and ethereal eyes are wrinkled and fatigued
And that alluring visage is a gaunt shadow of her past
The gold ring on her bony finger is still intact albeit losing its sheen
But three scores and twenty years could never corrode her inner beauty
The verve for life and joy of companionship still glistens through her failing eyes
For she knows that the covenant of love extends to all eternity and beyond…
