The CAA with its exclusionary objectives and discriminatory provisions targets Muslims.
Article 14 of the Indian Constitution states, βThe State shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India.β In essence, the article guarantees equality for all citizens and non-citizens alike and insulates them from discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, sect, and religion.
